Use Desktop After the Course Ends

A handy feature of DaDesktop is that course participants can easily continue using their course machine for practice after their course has finished. Before the course ends, participants are asked via email whether they would like to keep using their desktop machine once the course is over.

 

Each participant's course desktop is normally removed shortly after the course ends. If you'd like to keep your desktop to practise your lab work from the course, you can clone your course desktop to a 'Standalone Desktop' to use later. Simply go to your Course and your Desktop machine, then click the 'Use desktop after course' button next to your machine.

 

Next, DaDesktop explains the straightforward process and lets you 'Enable' this operation.

Once enabled, you'll see the following displayed next to your course machine

To access your Standalone machine after the course has finished, click on the Standalones menu at the top of your screen.

Any machines that haven't been used for a month will be removed, but an email is sent out beforehand to give you plenty of notice should you wish to keep using any Standalone machines.
