GPU Reservations

Training Coordinators can allocate guaranteed GPU resources to specific courses by establishing GPU reservations. By doing so, these courses gain priority access to requested GPU compute hardware, thereby ensuring that training sessions and labs have the necessary infrastructure to run successfully.

 

The process for creating a GPU reservation for a course involves the following steps:

Navigate to the Desktops tab on the course page and select the blue "Reserve GPU" button located beneath the Video conference button.

 

A prompt will subsequently appear to collect the necessary details for your GPU request.

The first parameter is location, which is set to "Anywhere" by default.

Should you know the city closest to your participants, you can specify it manually by choosing "Within distance from city".

For a broader geographic coverage, select "Others...".

Once you are content with the selected location, click "Continue" to proceed to the "Per desktop" section, where machine requirements can be defined.

In this stage, specify all resources required per machine to obtain a reliable estimate of the approximate resource costs.

** Accuracy is crucial here, as it enables a more precise cost estimation and assists course managers in locating alternative resources should availability within a region be limited.

 

If the entered details are satisfactory, click Continue to advance to the GPU requirements section.

It is advisable to consult with the trainer at this point to determine the exact specifications needed for the course. Trainers typically have a clear understanding of the required GPU vendor and model to deliver their curriculum effectively. If there is any uncertainty from your side or the trainer's, please set this field to "ANY".

Currently, we support two vendors: AMD and Nvidia.

Regarding models, we provide a list of our current catalogue. If the specific needs of the trainer remain unclear, please select "ANY" once again.

 

When you are confident in the reservation details, click "Place reservation". This action will allocate the funds, register the reservation, and display it as active on the course page, as illustrated below:
