Creating Organisations
Normally, an Organisation is set up automatically upon registration, with the same name as your username.
However, occasionally you might wish to create a new Organisation, for instance under a company name, where several users within the same company use DaDesktop.
NB: Creating an Organisation is a Super Admin feature only.
Creating Organisations in DaDesktop
There are two ways to create an Organisation: the first (default) creates an owner account simultaneously, and the second does not require a separate owner user account — for example, if one already exists.
Creating an Organisation together with an owner user account
- The account owner's email address is required, together with a password, first name, and surname. Roles can be chosen as needed. The currency is set based on the portal in use: for instance, dadesktop.com defaults to EUR, while dadesktop.cn specifies CNY.
- The Organisation name is also required, along with a code. The code should be kept brief; once set, it cannot be changed.
- The settings for Allowing course recordings or for publishing them apply to ALL recordings within an Organisation. The same goes for Receiving Promotional Emails. This setting is applied organisation-wide.
- 'Allow Recordings' controls whether Recordings are available throughout the organisation.
- Private servers can be chosen if needed. Please note that a server must be marked as 'Private' before it can be selected here.
