Create From OS Template
To create from an OS template:
- Navigate to the course, then the Desktops menu
- Click "Create From OS Template"
Here we see the various options available when creating from an OS Template
The meaning of each field is explained below:

GPU Model
Select the GPU and type, if required. Tick the 'Display GPU enabled servers' option to view only servers with GPUs available -
Datacentre / Server
Choose the datacentre region and server closest to your location in the UK -
OS to clone from
Operating System (OS) templates include Windows, Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Almalinux, amongst others) -
Include custom, old, beta & rc Versions
DaDesktop updates templates regularly. If you experience any problems with the newest template, you can try an older version here -
CPU
Choose the number of CPU cores required. NB: the default is 8 cores, which is normally sufficient for most general Linux and Windows requirements -
Memory
Choose the amount of memory in GB that the desktop should be limited to. Please bear in mind that you are limited by the server resources. Each server may have different memory limits. If you need to increase these limits, please contact us via Support Chat -
Disk Space
Choose the amount of disk space to be used. The default is 50GB.
