Improving Connection Performance
Occasionally, our DaDesktop might alert you if your connection has a latency (delay) that hampers performance.
If that happens, please try the steps below to enhance your connection.
Steps to take
- Use an Ethernet connection if you can. If you’re on Wi-Fi, run an internet speed test beforehand, for example using speedtest.net
- Make sure you’re as close to the wireless access point as possible. Use the 5 GHz band instead of 2.4 GHz if you can, as 2.4 GHz often delivers slower speeds and is more susceptible to interference.
- Turn off any VPNs or proxies before joining the course
- If possible, disable any security software that might interfere with the network connection, as these can affect speed—including latency.
-
Participants may want to contact their company’s IT support for help, particularly if content or network filtering affects performance. Whitelisting these domains can help:
1. https://\*.npg.io (e.g., any host under .npg.io)
2. https://dd4t.dadesktop.com - Avoid large downloads/uploads during the course; for example, pause any Windows/Mac/Linux updates until the course is over.
-
Your internet speed should exceed: "10 Mbps download & 1 Mbps upload"
